Patriotic Craft Ideas

Hello Everyone! Sorry for the small lapse is postings, me and my husband are starting the process of buying our first home.....not a fun time, but it will be exciting when its all done! I am currently working on a Mother's Day craft and will hopefully have that post up by the end of the week. But at the moment I have been looking for new Patriotic ideas for the upcoming summer. With my husband being a Marine ( and our families being very patriotic) I love decorating for Memorial Day and the Fourth of July. Here are a few ideas I have seen on the Internet and I hope they get my creative juices flowing!

Here is a wreath I made out of burlap scraps. I was not able to take pictures while I was making it, but it is super simple to create. Look for a more in depth posting later.

Also, check out some of these great crafts and websites.
Both of these great ideas are from http://www.framefanatic.blogspot.com/

LOVE this wreath! I really want to try it out for another holiday too, maybe Spring or Autumn.

Thrifty Finds

Hello everyone! As I posted earlier this week, we are going to start a regular post on all the thrifty finds we have been collecting to show everyone how finding that little piece of thrifty and some imagination can create a great find! There are a few places here in UT that I love visiting. One is the Deseret Industries here in St. George. I am always finding great items there and always at a great price.

I found these items there for a total of only $5! That would be the cost of the wreath alone at any Craft store. I am thinking about painting the tin vase white and putting it in our upstairs bathroom. And the pumpkin candle holder for only $1! I saw that at one of those large retailer (we all know the one that starts with a W), for at least $15. What a score!

I picked up this picture from my FAVORITE store Tai Pan Trading for only $5. I don't care for the picture itself but I have been looking for a frame for a upcoming project (Burlap Memo Board) and I think this one will do nicely! I can't wait to get to crafting.

Spring Cleaning Time

Sorry about no posts this past week, Lauren and I were together on a small vacation with the kiddos. I have also begun the long postponed spring cleaning (and may not have started at all if the in-laws were not coming next week). I have so many craft projects on hold too! I can't wait to start them but I am on a finishing what I started kick at the moment. I am also trying to ween my daughter off her pacifier....we will see how that goes. As for upcoming posts, here is a small taste of what is to come:

Lemon vanilla cake balls
Chicken Enchilada Casserole
Baby Bird Baby Shower Decor
Mothers Day Brag Book

I am also going to start posting by Thrifty Finds as well. I have been obsessed with the local thrift shop and can't stop coming up with ideas about what I can create! If you have a get Thrifty Find, email a photo and a description to us and we will post it on the blog!
